Choose ye this day

Kaleb Hopper

Each and everyday we make choices. Each and every choice we make boils down to "are we going to serve God or not?" From choosing to go the speed limit all the way to loving your neighbor. In Joshua 24:15, Joshua charges the Israelites to choose whom they were going to serve while he informs them that his family and him would serve God.

Another biblical example is in Esther. In Esther 4:14 Mordecai is speaking to Esther and telling her she can help the Jews or she can do nothing. It was her choice. If she chose to do nothing, however, there would be consequences. Her family would perish. She ultimately chose to serve God and help the Jews.

We are born to serve God (Ecclesiastes 12:13). That is our whole duty and what we are made for. Unfortunately, this does not just happen. We do not just begin to serve God because we are made to do so. We must choose to do so. Each and everyday we must choose to serve God (Joshua 24:15). So the ultimate question is "Will you serve God?"
